The following pages offer Role Description templates and some nationally recognized and suggested duties to each role for the Director of Religious Education (DRE), Coordinator of Religious Education (CRE), and Coordinator of Youth Ministry (CYM).
If a parish does not already have a Role Description (a.k.a. Job Description), We highly recommend that the Pastor and Parish Catechetical Leader(s) sit down together and create one. If a parish has already provided a Role Description, We suggest that it be reviewed for accuracy as to the expectations of the ministerial role to be undertaken by both the Pastor and Parish Catechetical Leader(s).
